Hello, this is Brett, a Technical Designer at r26D. Here’s more about the items we had with us. The things we displayed were all made on a computer-controlled router or with a laser cutter.

Blinkdom

Blinkdom is a large RGB LED Pixel wall. The two columns contain 400 pixels and are animated by a Raspberry Pi 2. It was machined on our ShopBot and made of upcycled water bottles.

Furniture

Upstart Desk 48

We have been experimenting with SketchUp/Ruby API, a CNC Router, and furniture designs. We showed our Upstart Rectangular 48 Desk. The quarter-scale model was cut on an Epilog laser. The OSB and maple prototypes we machined on a ShopBot PRS. We are working on these designs for our friends with growing small businesses.

Texas Table

The Texas Table is modern Texas in maple with five hairpin legs. The wood was left raw. The table can be made in various materials and levels of finish.

ShopBot

ShopBot PRSstandard is a full-size gantry computer-controller router from ShopBot tools. Since it weighs a few thousand pounds, we weren’t able to bring it with us but it was used to make most of the items we showed.

DiWire

DiWire is a computer-controlled wire bender from Pensa Labs.

X-Carve

On display was a 1000mm X-Carve from Inventables, an affordable and easy to use computer-controlled router. This machine has most of the optional upgrades. It cost about $1400 and the kit was assembled in a about 8hrs.
